(Info4now, January 9, 2021)- Finally, England remain unbeaten in a Test this Ashes series as they finish AUS vs ENG 4th Test in a draw here at SCG. They lost three in a row and were not in a position to smash Australia back. What they could do best was to bat a little bit longer. They reacted beautifully in Sidney and displayed an amazing game of Test cricket.

Day 1 started late and England were in a good position having taken all three of the Aussie top order. But Day 2 goes to Australia as Usman Khawaja playing as the replacement for Travis Head smashed a century. Every time Australia replacing one for a reason, it’s working. Hazlewood got injured in the first game and Cummins too missed the second game. But Jhye Richardson and Michael Neser played their roles nicely. The introduction of Scott Boland worked more intensely in the next one.

Stuart Broad returns with 5 wicket haul in the first innings.

Usman Khawaja’s inclusion was much safer as discussed in the preview of AUS vs ENG 4th Test. With all his experience and energy he built a strong partnership with champion Steve Smith. Tentative Cameron Green also created a mark with his important half century. Stuart Broad took a fifer and speeded up Australia’s declaration.

Fantastic finishers of all formats of the game, Johnny Bairstow and Ben Stokes took the responsibility on Day 3 as the top order had crumbled in a hurry. As both the batsmen were very positive with their willows, it was easy on the eye. Australia cleaned up England very early on Day 4. In response to Australia’s 416-8, England scored 294. Jack Leach was disciplined in the second innings. But again an Usman Khawaja made a hundred to spoil England’s plan. With 388 to chase England were 30 without loss.

Day 5

Jack Crawley was sublime with his 100 ball 77. He is a fine batsman in English camp. He got trapped by a fantastic full delivery of Cameron Green. Then again the injured pair in the side—Stokes and Bairstow started their fight to save the game. Australia with their class seaming department and a champion spinner strangled the English side after Tea. Just before two more overs to play, they lost their ninth wicket. Finally, the champion duo of swing bowling Broad and Anderson saved the game. This time with their bats, however.
