(Info4now, February 16, 2022)- India beat West Indies in IND vs WI 1st T20 by six wickets at Eden Gardens, Kolkata, as India chase down 157 with seven balls to spare. Sent to bat first, West Indies fail to set a par score of 170 or 180 and get stopped at 157 which really looked tough to defend against the dew. India chase it down with the favour of the coin, but, of course, with enough comprehension.

Rohit Sharma winning the toss decides to bat first. It was an easy decision against dew coming in the second half. Bhuvneshwar Kumar starts well after a long time. It was a fantastic wicket for a bowler like him. Although the outfield was really fast, the wicket behaved a little bit odd. Every ball was not coming to bat nicely.

Two leg spinners Yuzvendra Chahal and Ravi Bishnoi were excellent with their googlies. They handle the left hand strikers well with away deliveries. Nicholas Pooran was continuously tested by rich variations from the Indian bowlers. He takes time and frees his arms only when a ball misses the target. He gets past fifty and gives West Indies a little chance to defend.

India, back to bat, were very comfortable at the start. Rohit Sharma was fluent to score at 200+ strike rate. West Indies try to bowl at the right areas of the crease. They rhythmically strike in the forms of both the openers, Virat Kohli and Rishabh Pant. With 44 to chase from 33 balls, Suryakumar Yadav and Venkatesh Iyer build a strong match winning partnership and take the IND vs WI 1st T20 game home very comfortably.
