With 122 more to get past the target, South Africa start their innings today after Tea as two consecutive sessions got washed away. With their backs to the wall, South Africa needed some luck, and injuries in the Indian camp came to play in the game.
Mayank Agarwal and stand-in leader K.L. Rahul again offered a good start for Team India in the first innings. As the middle order collapsed, India could score an average total of 202. But with enough excellence in their bowling department, India stopped South Africa from gaining more than 27 runs of lead. With 27 ahead in the first innings, South Africa tried to be all over the Indian batting line up. They immediately broke the defence of the openers.
