(Info4now, December 6, 2022)– South Africa keep India waiting for a maiden series victory in South Africa as they beat India in IND vs SA 2nd Test by seven wickets in Johannesburg. With 122 more to get past the target, South Africa start their innings today after Tea as two consecutive sessions got washed away. With their backs to the wall, South Africa needed some luck, and injuries in the Indian camp came to play in the game.

Mayank Agarwal and stand-in leader K.L. Rahul again offered a good start for Team India in the first innings. As the middle order collapsed, India could score an average total of 202. But with enough excellence in their bowling department, India stopped South Africa from gaining more than 27 runs of lead. As we expected in the preview of IND vs SA 2nd Test, Keegan Petersen made a comeback and scored 62 in the first innings.

With 27 ahead in the first innings, South Africa tried to be all over the Indian batting line up. They immediately broke the defence of the openers. But with lots of indiscipline deliveries bowled at experienced Ajinkya Rahane and Cheteshwar Pujara cost heavy on South Africa. With positive intent both Rahane and Pujara start piling runs on the board with a better strike rate.

Playing as a unit, South African pace attack improved a bit on Day 3. They were very patient with the condition. Dean Elgar led well with important changes throughout the game. Indian lower middle order crumbled save Hanuma Vihari’s top class 40. South Africa returned to the crease to chase 239, and Aiden Markram and Keegan Petersen beautifully collaborated with Captain Elgar.

Day 4 starts with heavy rains. Two consecutive sessions get washed away today. Both the teams expected to draw the result in their favours. There were enough spaces for India to pick wickets and put pressure on South Africa. But it was all Elgar at Wanderers. The right man of the match Elgar completely denies any good delivery bowled to him and leads from the front to take his team home in the IND vs SA 2nd Test at Wanderers.
