(Info4now, November 11, 2022)– With New Zealand out of the competition, there is no probability of a new name on the plate at Melbourne Cricket Ground, scheduled to hold the PAK vs ENG contest on Sunday. It’s how this contest is completely different from the 1992 Final alongside the length of the game. So both the teams are experienced enough to handle the pressure of a knockout and should be relaxed with their respective strong zones.

If we have a look into the progression, England lost to Ireland and Pakistan to Zimbabwe. If there were loopholes to escape they have done it since. So they got just better and better as they flung themselves to Melbourne having hammered down their opponents.

Starting with Pakistani batting, it’s a little bit different from England’s. Shadab Khan and Mohammad Nawaz come into the action very early depending on the condition. Even though Mohammad Harris has changed the colour of a weak middle order, it’s much about how two superb timers of cricket ball score at the start.

It’s a terrific bowling line-up against their mixed batting towards the lower middle stage. Shaheen Afridi got back to his line and appeared fairly flexible in the last game. Harris Rouf is outstanding with almost 150+ regular speed and if he can hit the deck at right length of the middle stump line, it’s always unplayable. But the interesting one is Naseem Shah who is taking less wickets, but offering less room for a free going. Mohammad Wasim Jr is the fourth seamer who will take pressure off the spinners unable to get enough assistance from a wet wicket.

If Mark Wood returns to the side he must fancy the attack or it’ll be Chris Jordan to tackle the middle overs. If the situation favours the pacers, England will go with Woakes’ three at a stretch. With better swinging capabilities he might be the key for England. Experienced Ben Stokes and energetic Sam Curran can bowl at any stage. Unlike Adelaide the spinners may bowl less if the captain is satisfied with playing hours.

Can they show the same desperateness they showed against India? It’s a golden question though, their batting depth must try to feel the shadow of that scenario. At Melbourne English batsmen might have to wait a little bit even though they have a long batting line-up. It’s absolutely not going to be the same for them as it was against India at Adelaide.

To Sum up

Who to take pressure? Your bowlers or your batsmen? It’s very easy for England as their batsmen can take pressure and offer their bowlers to start the innings. But if it’s overcast and Pakistan win the toss, can they chase? They have to…. they have to allow their bowlers to bowl with the favour of the condition. So if there’s a little bit of confusion of either to chase or defend, England have one, Pakistan have two. Still it’s a complete fifty-fifty contest as England have the edge as a team and Pakistan, on the other hand, have no psychological pressure from Indian spectators shouting hard.
