Info4Now– An Instagram beauty influencer and makeup artist from Bengaluru uploaded a video accusing a Zomato delivery boy that she had been punched on her nose. The 31 year old Instagram influencer Hitesha Chandranee, having more than 73k followers, alleged in her video on March 9 that she received her meal one hour late. So she claimed the meal free of cost while talking over the phone with Zomato customer care. In the meantime the delivery boy attacked her being unhappy with her attitude.

As the lady questioned women’s safety and requested support from her followers, the video went viral in no time and Zomato replied on her Instagram possaying “Hey Hitesha, thank you for speaking to us, we can assure you this is not the experience our delivery universe stands for. Our local representative shall be in touch with you shortly to help you with the police investigation along with assistance on the medical care required. We can’t emphasise how sorry we are, rest assured we’ll take necessary actions to prevent such incidents from happening in the future.”

The delivery executive Kamaraj was arrested by the local police after the incident had taken place and later he was released. Kamaraj denied the complaint of Hitesha and said that the late delivery was due to traffic congestion, but Hitesha didn’t listen to him and threw her slippers at him. However, the police said that as per Kamaraj’s statement, the lady injured herself with her ring and the investigation is not over yet.

A video statement of Kamaraj got viral on social media with hashtag #JusticeForKamaraj requesting people to support him as he is the only earning man in his family. His father passed away 15 years ago and his mother is a diabetes patient.

As per protocol, Zomato suspended Kamaraj temporarily but is covering his earnings and his legal expenses. Zomato shared a fact about the delivery executive, “Kamaraj has made 5,000 deliveries for us so far, and has a 4.75/5 star rating on our platform (which is one of the highest), and has been working with us for 26 months now. (these are facts, not opinions, or inferences)”

Info4Now checked the Twitter page of Hitesha and found that once she was abusive to a customer care.  Here what she twitted to ACT Fibernet:

However, users in Social media reacted to her Instagram video as cheap publicity and supported Kamaraj after listening to his story. Bollywood actress Parineeti Chopra also supported Kamaraj with a post on her Twitter page:

Zomato CEO Deepinder Goyal shared a statement on his Twitter page that they are in constant touch with Hitesha and the Zomato delivery boy, Kamaraj, with all the support they need as the investigation is pending.

To conclude, one who is either a social media influencer or a common man has to keep things simple as best as possible. It’s very easy to have popularity through a controversy, many a time by using negative policies, but to maintain it is very tough. As social media platform has the best power to make you go through ebb and flow, it’s honesty that can straight such curve of that line.
