(Info4now, April 27, 2022)- As the tournament is getting really competitive, a single KKR vs DC contest tomorrow at Wankhede will not immediately affect the points table. Both the teams have got just six points each, less than half of the table toppers. Kolkata Knight Riders have completely lost the momentum they had got early in the competition and it’s, of course, for their haphazard player selection. Against Delhi they will probably bring back Ajinkya Rahane.
For Delhi, it’s again the same. They started well and with the progression of the tournament they look exhausted. What they really lacked in last two or three games was the accuracy in pace. Against KKR, they might go for a couple of changes.

Delhi Capitals will take this game as a single one. They have a good top order which places them above Kolkata Knight Riders. Psychologically ahead in the game, David Warner and Prithvi Shaw will take on KKR’s pacers. It looks like they have a balanced middle order, but it’s very inconsistent. Rishabh Pant in the middle must do a lot of work to pump it up.
With the ball, too, they have mixed experiences so far in IPL 2022. If Khaleel Ahmed and Mustafizur Rahman had been consistently accurate, it would have been fantastic. But they are extremely disciplined players on their days. So Delhi must be hoping to get them back in rhythm. They may introduce Chetan Sakariya in place of Shardul Thakur who is a bit out of form. Kuldeep was very successful in the last game against Kolkata and therefore might secure his place in the playing XI.
As we expected or wished for a couple of changes in KKR in the last preview, the last appearance somehow matched that. They had a good game against Gujarat Titans, but failed to cross over the line. Return of Tim Southee was just a matter of time and KKR must play him in next three or four matches. But what they skipped was the replacement of Varun Chakravarthy.
In place of Chakravarthy, they may bring someone who can bowl two overs or a left-arm orthodox. Three pace bowlers are in rhythm and it’s only the fifth bowling option KKR have to negotiate and put faith in one who can continue for some time. On this wicket it’s not easy for a batting allrounder to test a batsman with ball in hand. Still it’s time for Nitish Rana and Venkatesh Iyer to try one or two.
To Conclude
It’s a matter of happiness to get back to Wankhede. It’s a fine wicket for batting, but the bowlers have something to bowl here. If Delhi Capitals have some problems with the bowl, they will have a chance to recover, while a good bowling side KKR will test a fumbling middle order of the opposition. Even the last KKR vs DC contest went in favour of Delhi, it’s a fresh game and a fifty-fifty one.
